Five Star Storage

Edit: Changing from a 1 star after receiving a sincere apology and significant discount. I have moved into my storage unit and am happy with it so far. I reserved a unit over the phone with this office. I was given a quote and told I could go into the office to take a look at the unit and finalize my purchase. I went in the next day and was told that there was no reservation under my name and that the actual price of the unit was higher than the price they gave me for my reservation. The woman also told me that she could not show me the unit before I rented it because she was the only person there. I asked her what would be a good time for me to come in so I could see the unit, she told me she had no idea. I was trying to be cooperative and polite by offering to come in at a different time, even though that would require me to take time off of work.The women I talked to in the office seemed more concerned with getting me out of the office and going home early than getting me into a storage unit. The man I talked to on the phone lied. As it turns out, you can’t see the unit before you rent it, your reservation doesn’t mean anything, and the price they quote you is meaningless.

Service was excellent. No hidden fees, no pushing unnecessary products or services, detailed directions, complimentary trailers (based on availability), climate controlled or non climate controlled units, (you pick), and overall, just good quality, honest, great integrity customer service. Can’t say enough good things about the company.

If I could give these con people zero stars I would. If you are looking for a short term rent period, AVOID Five Star! They don’t prorate rent out, and their “pro-rate” for rent in is $10-$20 off. They also don’t stick by their word. I was told that if I providing my renters insurance that any third party insurance they apply would be waived or credited. Neither happened and I was told nothing could be done about it after rent was paid. Not only this but their website sucks!! I rented 2 units before finally being able to rent one since their website wasn’t updated! Plain and simple, Five Star doesn’t work with you and will not help you out in any way!
